Molly’s Beret Crochet Pattern

Molly’s Beret Crochet Pattern

I’m a huge Molly fan, with her adorable glasses and little beret, I think she has such a charm. This beret is simple and extremely quick to work up and I used less than 50 yards so it is a perfect pattern to use up leftover yarn.

Introduction

Introduction

It was around the year 1997 and I remember my Mom letting me and my sister pick out one doll each from the American Girl catalog. My sister picked out Samantha. I thought it would be really fun to be able to choose your own doll’s hair and eye color so I ended up picking a Just Like You doll.

I have loved dolls for as long as I can remember. I grew up playing mostly with Barbie dolls. I got really interested in the Magic Attic Club dolls around the same time I got my American Girl doll. As a teenager I had Barbie Collectibles lined up on shelves in my bedroom and now as an adult I make my own dolls. I took up knitting and crocheting in my 20’s and my husband encouraged me to start creating my own doll crochet patterns.

I went to the American Girl store last year with my sister to pick out a doll now for her daughter. It was then that I fell in love with them all over again. I left the store that day empty handed but I had a head full of ideas that I wanted to create with these dolls and I would think about them occasionally over the next year. This past Christmas, my husband surprised me with the new Courtney doll and a dollhouse he had made for me and I got to start bringing my ideas to reality.

I decided to start this blog as a way to share ideas, crafts and patterns with others who enjoy the world of American Girl.
