  • Puff Stitch-*yarn over, insert hook in the stitch, yarn over, draw up a loop. Repeat from * 3 more times. You will have a total of 9 loops on the hook. Yarn over and pull through all 9 loops.

With G hook and purple, ch 110. Sl st to the first ch to create a ring. Continue to work in the round. 

Row 1. Ch 1, sc in the same ch as beginning ch 1, sc in each ch around. Sl st to the beginning ch 1. (110 sc)

Finishing

Line the base of the bag up with one of the faces of the bag starting at the tail. Using the tail of the round piece, whipstitch to the base across the entire long edge through the back loops of both pieces. Weave in ends.

Line up the other face of the bag with the base and using the tail, whipstitch the opposite edge of the base to the bag face through the back loop of the round piece and the chain row of the base.

Cut 4 strands of tan about 7 inches long and sew the straps to the front of the bag using a cross stitch pattern. Weave in ends. If desired, using the embroidery floss, create 3 small tassels and sew to the bag.

Gauge: 20 dc over 10 rows=4″ square

Notes and Tips:

  • Pattern is worked in the round. You will chain 2 at the beginning of each round. Place marker in the second chain which you will join with at the end of the round.
