Flower Crown and Bouquet DIY for American Girl and 18″ Dolls.
What you will need:
- Floral stems (I used 4 different floral stems with smaller blooms that measure about an 1″ to 1 1/4″ tall and wide)
- 24 gauge floral wire
- Floral stem wrapping tape
- Wire cutters or scissors
- Jute twine or ribbon (optional)

To begin, start by cutting the floral wire 16″ long. Cut a flower from the floral stem, leaving about 2″ of the stem. If you have not worked with floral tape before, it adheres to itself but it is not sticky. Tear off a length of the tape about 2 to 3″ long. Start about 1″ down from the end of the wire and wrap the tape around the flower stem and the wire, right below the flower bloom. You will need the extra inch of wire when finishing to connect the ends together.

Continue to add flowers by placing the next one right below the first and taping the stem below the bloom around wire. Keep adding flowers one at a time until you have about an inch of wire remaining.

Once you have finished taping all the flowers, take the ends and overlap them to where the flowers meet up and there is no empty gap between your first flower and the last. I twisted the wires around the crown here and placed some more tape around the wires to hide them.

You can add a ribbon to the back if desired as well. I also made a small bouquet by cutting one flower from each of the different stems leaving about 3″ on the stem. I placed the floral tape around the bottom half of the bouquet. I added a little bow with the jute twine.

Kirsten is now ready to celebrate Midsummer with her family and friends.
