
Spring is finally here and planting season is among us! Keep your doll’s skin protected from sunburn and looking cute with this crocheted farmer hat. The ridges in the hat give a straw-like appearance and are worked at the end of the hat. Be sure to work through the back loops only as instructed to be able to add the ridges in at the end.

Materials
- #3 DK Yarn-Knit Picks CotLin 1 skein in Creme Brulee
- E (3.5 mm) hook
- Row counter
- Stitch markers
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
Gauge 24 sc over 24 rows=4″ square

Instructions
Ch 3. Sl st to the first chain to create a ring.
Row 1. Work 6 sc into the center of the ring. (6 sc)
Row 2. 2 sc in each st around. (12 sc)
Row 3. *sc, inc. Repeat from * around. (18 sc)
Row 4. Work this row through the back loop only. *sc in the next 2 sts, inc. Repeat from * around. (24 sc)
Row 5. *sc in the next 3 sts, inc. Repeat from * around. (30 sc)
Row 6. *sc in the next 4 sts, inc. Repeat from * around. (36 sc)
Row 7. Work this row through the back loop only. *sc in the next 5 sts, inc. Repeat from * around. (42 sc)
Row 8. *sc in the next 6 sts, inc. Repeat from * around. (48 sc)
Row 9. *sc in the next 7 sts, inc. Repeat from * around. (54 sc)
Row 10. Work this row through the back loop only, *sc in the next 8 sts, inc. Repeat from * around. (60 sc)

Sl st to the next st. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Create a slip knot and working in the opposite direction than the hat was worked, pick up the extra front loop from row 31, starting from the end of the row and working back to the beginning of the row, and work a slip stitch in each extra loop around. Fasten off. Weave in ends.


Repeat the last step for each extra front loop row, working a slip st around each front loop stitch.
Fasten off and weave in all ends.
