Crochet a beach style bucket hat for your doll’s summer wardrobe. Skill level is easy and is worked using standard crochet stitches. You can add a floral pin for detail or leave the hat as is.

• #4 Worsted Yarn
• J (5.75 mm) hook
• Row counter
• Stitch markers  
• Yarn needle
• Floral stem
• Brooch Pin
• Scissors
• Hot glue

Gauge 16 sc over 18 rows=4” square

Notes & Tips

• Hat is worked in the round. You will join at the chain st for each round so place your marker in the top chain stitch.

Row 1. Ch 1, work 21 sc into the center of the ring. Sl st to the beginning ch 1 to join. (21 sc)

Row 2. Ch 1, work 2 sc in each st around. Sl st to the beginning ch 1 to join. (42 sc)

Row 3. Ch 2, *dc in the first st, skip the next 2 sts, 5 dc in the next st, skip the next 2 sts. Repeat from * around. Sl st to the top of the beginning ch 2 to join. (42 sts)

Row 4. Ch 2, *5 dc in the next st, skip the next 2 sts, dc in the next st, skip the next 2 sts. Repeat from * around. Sl st to the top of the beginning ch 2 to join. (42 sts)

Row 5. Ch 2, *skip the next 2 sts, dc in the next st, skip the next 2 sts, 5 dc in the next st. Repeat from * around. Sl st to the top of the beginning ch 2 to join. (42 sts)

Row 12. Ch 1, *sc in the next 8 sts, inc. Repeat from * around. Sl st to the beginning ch 1 to join. (60 sc)

Row 13. Ch 1, *sc in the next 9 sts, inc. Repeat from * around. Sl st to the beginning ch 1 to join. (66 sc)

Row 14. Ch 1, *sc in the next 10 sts, inc. Repeat from * around. Sl st to the beginning ch 1 to join. (72 sc)

Fasten off. Weave in ends. 

Brooch

If desired, create a small pin for the hat. I cut a few small flowers and a leaf from a floral stem and hot glued the pieces to the craft brooch pin. Pin to the side of the hat.
